Ultraviolet Disinfection and Advanced Oxidation (WT-81-CT):
This one-day course has been developed to provide participants with ultraviolet disinfection and advanced oxidation training. The course begins with a description of ultraviolet radiation and its history. How ultraviolet light inactivates microorganisms is then explained. Next, the major components of ultraviolet treatment systems are described. This is followed by a description of ultraviolet disinfection and advanced oxidation systems. Ultraviolet system operation and maintenance is then explained. Several UV treatment case studies then illustrate the versatility of ultraviolet treatment. The last section covers the health and safety aspects of operating and maintaining UV systems. Quizzes and videos are included to maximize learning.
