Nitrogen Removal Systems Using Simulator Model

Nitrogen Removal Systems using Simulator Model (WWT-21-SIM):

This one-day course is designed for operators to gain a thorough understanding of nitrogen removal systems. This course will be using a user-friendly simulator model to assist operators to understand operational issues related to nitrogen in wastewater. Operators will be troubleshooting various scenarios using simulator model to gain better understanding and to propose corrective actions to minimize excessive nitrogen.

What will be covered:

  • Nitrogen sources
  • Nitrogen in the environment
  • Surface water/soil concerns
  • Nitrogen control techniques
  • Nitrification/denitrification
  • Physical/chemical processes
  • Chlorination and ion exchange methods
  • Use of simulator to understand nitrogen removal systems and optimizing processes to meet effluent requirements for nitrogen (case scenarios will be provided)

Duration: 1 Day

CEUs/Renewal Credits: 0.7 (7 Hours) in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Yukon, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and New York.
