Nutrient Removal Systems using Simulator Model (WWT-75-SIM):
This one-day course is designed for operators to gain a thorough understanding of nitrogen and phosphorous removal systems. This course will be using a user-friendly simulator model to assist operators to understand operational issues related to nutrients in wastewater. Operators will be troubleshooting various scenarios using simulator model to gain better understanding and to propose corrective actions to minimize excessive nutrients (such as phosphorous and nitrogen).
What will be covered:
- Nitrogen in the environment
- Process of nitrification/denitrification
- Physical/chemical processes
- Chlorination and ion exchange methods
- Phosphorous removal systems: biological/chemical
- Use of simulator to understand nitrogen and phosphorous removal systems and optimizing process to meet effluent requirements for the nutrients
Duration: 1 Day
CEUs/Renewal Credits: 0.7 (7 Hours) in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Yukon, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and New York.
